Which database should I use?

  • A good way to choose which database to get started with is by going to our Research and Course Guides, designed by librarians to help you get started with your research.  Choose the guide that corresponds with the class you are taking and you will see recommended databases for that subject.

  • Another option is to choose databases by category: Most Popular, Subject, Title, or Trials.

    • To do this, go the the CSUSM University Library homepage.
    • Look for where it says Databases under the OneSearch Bar.
    • Click on which type of Databases you are looking for (Most Popular, By Subject, By Title, Trials).
    • By Subject will give you a list of databases for the subject you are taking.
