Does the Library provide access to the New York Times?

We do have access to The New York Times, as well as many other newspapers, magazines, and journals.  There are two ways you can get access: 

1) You can sign up for digital access to the New York Times website by following the instructions here: https://biblio.csusm.edu/nytimes.

  • For this access you must have an @csusm.edu email address

3) You can search for The New York Times, or any other newspaper, in the library catalog by following the detailed instructions below.

  • On the following page, as shown by the screenshot below, click on Journal Search.

  • Type in the name of the newspaper you are searching for, which in this case is The New York Times.

  • A list of journal/newspaper titles will appear.  Click on the one you want.  For this example, click on the fifth result.

  • On the next page a list of databases that provides access to The New York Times appears.  Click on whichever one most closely meets your needs (note that each database might provide a different date range).

  • The newspaper should open and you can now search for the article you want by browsing the date or looking for a specific article.
