When would I want to contact a subject librarian and how can I find the one for my subject?

If you need in-depth research assistance, contact a subject librarian for help as they have expertise in specific subject areas. They know how to find the best information for your projects and papers because they are familiar with the databases, books, and resources for that subject.  They know your professors, your research assignments, and the curriculum on campus.  You can use a Research Help Appointment Request Form to make an appointment or you can contact your subject librarian directly through email or chat.

However, for basic research assistance, any CSUSM librarian can help.  You can click on the Research Help dropdown menu arrow and then Chat Now  (see image below) to get immediate live help or visit Getting Research Help at the Library for more options on how to get help from a librarian.
