How do I place materials on reserve?

Physical & Electronic Reserves

For Physical and Electronic Reserves, please add them to your Library Reserves list or email reserve@csusm.edu with your request. Please visit Managing Your Library Reserves to learn more about how to add items to your list yourself. 

When emailing, please include the semester and course number in the Subject line (e.g. Fall 2020 SOC 101) of the email and include as much bibliographic information as possible, such as

  • Title
  • Author
  • Edition
  • Publisher
  • ISBN
  • URL (Link to Amazon, Chegg, etc.) 

For Physical Reserves that are personal copies, you can drop off the book at the 3rd floor Circulation Desk. 

For Electronic Reserves, please send your PDF attachments to reserve@csusm.edu. If you need pages scanned from personal copies of books, you can drop off materials at the 3rd floor Circulation Desk for library staff to scan. If you are requesting pages to be scanned from books in the library collection, library staff will retrieve books from the library stacks to scan.  

PDF scans must be must be able to be read by a screen reader which includes all PDFs to be in Optical Character Recognition (OCR) format. PDF scans must only have one page scanned per PDF page in order to be read by a screen reader. Optimal scans would be free of handwritten notes, underlining, highlighting, and any other marks not printed in the text.

Media Reserves

For Media Reserves, please complete the Media Reserves Form. You can drop off personal copies of media items at the 3rd floor Circulation Desk.
