ZCCM courses exclusively use digital course materials that are free of charge to students and may have a low-cost option for print versions. Thus, taking ZCCM courses allow for significant cost savings as both students and faculty would spend little to no money on textbooks. Also, because OERs are available in various formats, students have the option of utilizing an electronic or print version of the text. Instructors also have the option to modify or customize the material in a way that best suits their needs and the needs of their students.
